Chad Schmookler
Chad has worked in the Fintech space for nearly 20 years, performing roles across the organizational spectrum. He is skilled at leadership, process engineering, continuous improvement, project/product management, framework building, analysis, and operations management. Chad prioritizes straight talk over soft talk and real results over the appearance of activity.
He earned his B.B.A from The University of Georgia studying MIS, economics, and finance, and holds an MBA from the University of Arizona along with PMP, SSBB, and CSPO certifications. Chad regularly writes about strategy, technology, and operations for outlets like CIOReview, Financial Services Review, Banking CIO Outlook, and FinTech Futures.
Beau Schmookler
Beau has built data science, machine learning, and systems architecture solutions across fintech, credit, and aviation for over a decade — from ML engineering at Equifax to analytics research at Delta Air Lines that drove redesigned cabin configurations and updated safety protocols. He is skilled at machine learning, statistical modeling, operations research, optimization, simulation, and applied mathematics. Beau routinely breaks things on purpose to build them back better — prioritizing simplicity over complexity and automation over maintenance.
He earned his B.S. in Mathematics and M.S. in Applied Statistics from Kennesaw State University, where he also pursued graduate research in a lab focused on credit and fintech — contributing to a novel credit scoring model built on Dynamic Time Warping.

Who are the founders of Text + Numbers?
Chad and Beau Schmookler. Chad brings nearly 20 years in fintech across strategy, operations, project management, and process engineering. Beau brings over a decade in data science, machine learning, and systems architecture across fintech, credit, and aviation. Between the two, we cover the full spectrum from business strategy to deep technical execution.
Why do you only work with small and mid-sized businesses?
Because SMBs can't afford to waste money on experiments that don't pan out. Large enterprises throw budget at problems and hope something sticks. You need solutions that work the first time, that you can run yourself, and that free you to focus on growth. That constraint makes us better at what we do — every project has to deliver real value, fast. See if we're a fit.
What industries do you have experience in?
Our deepest experience is in fintech, credit, aviation, logistics, and manufacturing — but the methods we use (ML, optimization, statistical modeling) are industry-agnostic.
